Ground truth for safe work.

About

An independent filter on what works.

Written for the EHS director who has to decide what actually reduces incidents.

From the Floor is an independent reference publication on industrial safety, written for the corporate EHS director, the person who holds the budget, runs multiple sites, and has to decide what safety technology and practice actually works.

The spine

Compliance is not safety. Most safety tech sells the first while pretending to deliver the second. Our job is to be the independent filter on what actually reduces incidents versus what just generates dashboards.

The voices

You'll see three bylines across the publication. They are editorial voices, angles of approach, not personas pretending to be credentialed individuals:

  • The Skeptic, safety-tech teardowns; what works vs. theatre.
  • The Floor Walker, how safety plays out on real sites; practices that hold up.
  • The Scout, what's coming: AI vision, wearables, digital twins, predictive safety.

Independence

We never promote a vendor or run paid coverage disguised as editorial. We don't name competing products, and we don't run product shootouts, we cover practices, standards, and principles. No topic is promoted because it serves an affiliated interest, and none is avoided because it touches one. Genuine conflicts are disclosed plainly.

The standard

Every piece aims to make a falsifiable, useful point, cite primary sources, and hand you a diagnostic you can use. In safety, being confidently wrong is the cardinal sin, so when we're unsure, we hedge, verify, or hold.
